Elise Ferguson was born in Richmond, VA. She received a MFA from the University of Illinois, Chicago, IL and a BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, IL.

Ferguson has exhibited extensively in the United States and Europe including solo exhibitions with Halsey McKay Gallery, Romer Young Gallery, White Columns, Barton Art Galleries, Barton College, Wilson NC,

Her works have been included in group exhibitions at Luhring Augustine, Team Gallery, Dieu Donne Papermill, Sculpture Center, Andrew Kreps, Mixed Greens, Bowdoin College Museum of Art in Brunswick, Maine, Fourteen30 Contemporary, Norwich Gallery, England, Lothringer Dreizen, Munich, among others.

She received the Northern Trust Purchase Prize, fellowship at MacDowell Colony, was a Paper Variables Artist at Dieu Donne Papermill, and has been an Artist-in-Residence at UNLV and Barton College.

Ferguson lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
